Color slide, quarter scale Macchi-Castoldi MC-72 Schneider Cup racer in air, outdoors, stamped and handwritten on cardboard frame "8917, 8". From notes with slides: "Schneider cont'd -plus- GEPE mounts: slides used in MODEL AVIATION 'Fine tuning your Seaplane' article June 90 issue". This image was used for Robert H. Munn's article, "Floatplane Fine Tuning", published in the June 1990 issue of Model Aviation magazine. In caption on page 107, "Right: The same model, most likely with the same elevator problem, making a highly exaggerated nose-high approach which will inevitably lead to a rough, bouncing touchdown, possibly even causing it to flip over." Photographs A2020.10.152 and A2020.10.157 are of same model aircraft. |
