Printed on blue cover: "ELEVENTH NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP MODEL AIRPLANE CONTEST, UNDER DIRECTION AND SUPERVISION OF THE EXCHANGE CLUB OF DETROIT, DETROIT, MICHIGAN, JULY - 6 - 9 - 1938, OFFICIAL RECORDS, SANCTIONED BY THE NATIONAL AERONAUTIC ASSOCIATION, INDOOR EVENTS GROSSE ILE HANGAR, OUTDOOR EVENTS, WAYNE COUNTY AIRPORT" Only cover page of results booklet A2025.02.56 has been scanned. The 1938 Nats was held July 6 to July 9 in Detroit, Michigan. Although some original material from the 1938 Nats advertises it as the 11th Nats, this Nats is currently considered the 16th Nats based on other historical research. The first contest that is considered the Nats by the National Model Aviation Museum is the Mulvihill Model Trophy contest event held during the 1923 international air races in St. Louis. |
