Program, printed at top "PROGRAM of the SECOND NATIONAL AIRPLANE MODEL LEAGUE OF AMERICA CONTESTS, Conducted by THE AMERICAN BOY MAGAZINE, Sponsored by NATIONAL AERONAUTIC ASSOCIATION, DETROIT BOARD OF COMMERCE, DETROIT, June 20-22, 1929". Program presented by the Michigan Mutual Liability Company, Detroit, MI. Inside the program is an acknowledgments page and schedule of events. On the back cover is free bus transportation information and schedule. Handwritten on cover: "one of my wing spars in my scale model was broken." The 1929 Nats was held June 20 to 22 in Detroit, Michigan. On June 19, registration was at the Hotel Statler, Detroit, MI. Although some original material from the 1929 Nats advertises it as the 2nd Nats, this Nats is currently considered the 7th Nats based on other historical research. The first contest that is considered the Nats by the National Model Aviation Museum is the Mulvihill Model Trophy contest event held during the 1923 international air races in St. Louis. |
