It is painted matte black. Similar models were used to train service personnel in how to recognize aircraft during WWII.

  10. Model Airplane - A-frame Pusher

    An, A-frame pusher, rubber-powered Free Flight model. Built by Teen Becksted this model is made with two stick fuselages forming a wide "A" shape. The 14" wing is placed far forward; red insignia on wing. This model was built for speed contests and could go about 70mph covering 176' in 2 seconds. It was flown with 30 strands of 1/8" rubber.

    Early prototype of the AMA Alpha designed by Tom Sanders. Balsa wood motor stick, with thin sheeted balsa wings and tail. Wing is square, slightly swept back wing with slight dihedral and attaches to the motor stick via a protruding stick held on by rubber bands. Tail surfaces are small and very square. Unpainted balsa wood, trimmed in red along all leading edges.
